I’d like to request Titanic: The Ultimate Collection (http://www.amazon.com/Titanic-Ultimate-Collection-Soundtrack-Anthology/dp/B0000060ES). Apparently a few of the tracks from the movie are slightly different from the album versions with a real choir instead of a synthetic one. I searched on here and all over the internet, but I couldn’t find it. Any help would be appreciated! 🙂

It has been posted here, by a few folks, links I believe are still working. There is NO new music fronm Horner’s score. The Titanic and Back to Titanic albums are just remasteres of the original cd’s with no changes. No film edit versions to be found anywhere. Almost every track on the official albums are completely different from the film versions. If i understand what I read and hear, not one track on the album is a film version. So, with the albums, what we have is 2 cd’s of alternate takes, and not one representation of the film score itself. Some members here have made pretty good stabs at it, but there has never been any leak of unreleased Titanic music anywhere publicly. Not to say it isn’t around, but it may as well not be….

That’s a real shame. Actually, the choir voices are very memorable. I saw Titanic when I was about 4, and I found the music to be very memorable! I had no idea some of them (as heard in the film) were simply synths! I read that Danny Elfman also uses synth choirs when in his "demo stages" for film scores. I’m glad that he actually uses real choirs for the final compositions though!

Wait wait, I was asking about the Ultimate Collection, not the Anniversary Edition.

there is only this release, and the original 2 cd’s. No other official releases, and no fx free boots.

An initial search turns up nothing on this. Surprising since according to Amazon it has been out since 2000 in CD (1998 in cassette). Some interesting variations in theme…Rose’s Theme in guitar…

oh, THAT. Be aware that that is a rerecorded compoilation album with music from many different Titanic items, including the musical. I dunno if they used a real choir, but I doubt the music is any different than heard on the original releases. Though, I have never heard this. It may be findable. You won’t see it here, though, because it is Varese, which is a label not allowed to be posted.

I noticed it had other Titanic items, but the bulk of the music was from the Cameron movie. If you happen to find it, I wouldn’t mind giving this a thorough listen…not sure it is worth a purchase, though.

I listened to this, and now my mind is mush and my ears are bleeding. As a Horner fan, I strongly protest what they did to this, and shall now scrub it forever from my mind, memry, and pc. Didn’t happen, didn’ hear it lalalalalalala

I agree with Amanda. That hideous noise scarred my ears forever. However, it has the best version of Nearer, My God, To Thee I’ve ever heard.
