Was he born in the dream Zanarkand?

If ‘born’ you mean, dreamt up by the fayth, then sure. He’s originally from the dream Zanarkand.

Wait, what?

He came to exist in their dreams. I don’t imagine they dreamt of his conception, birth, or the akward phase of his youth where he began noticing other boys’ genitals in the Blitzball locker room.

We can however, assume that he retains these "memories" from him "growing up."

What i read. Old Zanarkand was destroyed 1000 years ago at that time and it was later reconstructed or something like that to Dream Zanarkand

No, Dream Zanarkand is NOT Zanarkand reconstructed. When Zanarkand, many people sacrificed their lives to become faith. They all came together to dream about zanarkand and keep it’s memory around forever. Dream Zanarkand is a dream of the faith. Tidus was bron in dream zanarkand. He escaped through sin.

He probably grew up in the dream Zanarkard but he wasnt born there as he is a dream. His family should have memories of his birth though.

Dream Zanarkand is just that, its a dream, chances are no one really grows up or has experiences, the fayth are there for Yu Yevon to summon Sin, meanwhile they keep their memories of what Zanarkand was like because they arent dead OR alive, just there. I remember reading a timeline by Square enix giving the "birth" of Tidus as 17 years ago, not 1000 years ago, so chances are he’s been dreamt since then in phases and things to remember as if they’re his past (really Shuyins’) to make his life on Spira more realistic, more human.

Thats my take, at least.

Wait, is Shuyin the fayth that dreamt up Tidus? But I thought Shuyin got shot by Bevelle soldiers during the machina war. He tried to break into the underground and steal Vegnagun. In order to become a fayth, you have to willingly die, which he didn’t.

No, Shuyin is not a fayth.

Yes but the fayth could be dreaming of Shuyin, and the result was Tidus.

I see what you’re saying. The fayth dreamt about Shuyin (he lived in Zanarkand before it was destroyed) and that dream created Tidus. It’s possible. It would explain why they look so much alike. There’s really nothing (other than them looking a like) that says that.

Tidus, the dream of a dream of a Fayth. Sounds really far fetched though.

I mean the whole Pyreflies carry peoples feelings/emotions and the ability to physically manifest them, okay. (though it did sound a little bit forced to me as to think of a story).

But that’s a little over the top for me.
