I don’t know if anyone else has thought of this, or even posted this before…. Do you think that the characters in FF games as well as other RPGs, should have different clothes?

I only ask this because that’s one thing that has never changed in any of these games, except perhaps in a cutscene. Surely with the days and days of adventuring, you’d think they might have a change of clothes every now and then! Perhaps when they rest at an inn or something, they should emerge with a change, even a minor change, just to add to the realism?

Before anyone mentions FFX-2, that’s not the same thing, that’s more like changing weapons or armour.

What are your thoughts? Would this help in your suspension of disbelief?

if Cloud in a dress isn’t enough for you, I really don’t understand what you’re on about. :-*

LOL, I didn’t think of that!

But he did still have his normal clothes on underneath the dress. Of course he was wearing perfume, so that might have made the stench of unchanged clothes less.

Thanks for reminding me of that funny scene.

Drag in a video game, best ever!

They’re heroes. They never stink or even sweat. That’s one of the requirements to becoming a hero, I think. Like being the main char in an FPS requires you to have a video camera mounted in your face.

Well, the characters in FFX-2 have it right. You can change their outfits anytime you want.

I said to ignore X-2 because that’s not the same thing! They’re weapon/armor changes that look like clothes

I can go about ten days in the same pants before they start getting out of hand! I’m pretty sure if I were in FF my clothing would last untill I was around level 70 or so then I think I would have to jump in a lake or something. Maybe thats what they do because in just about every RPG theres some body of water. I dont know but the idea sounds valid to me.;)

Well Cloud’s trousers got a wash in the Ancient City…

And the entire team in FFX were underwater at a point in the game…

Anyway, they probably have a bath whenever they stay at the inns or use a tent.

FF5 with the different job systems include various outfits. Same as FFTA, depending on your job you’ll have different outfits. In FFVIII you have your standard outfit and 2 different Seed outfits. (One standard Seed outfit and one for that ball thingie after you passed your exam).
