Cabaret Legend Julie Wilson, who passed away on April 6, appeared in two 1957 movies, “The Strange One”, the film version of Calder Willingham’s play "End as a Man" and the MGM musical drama “This Could Be the Night,” in which she played a saloon singer. The long out of print MGM soundtrack album of “This Could Be the Night” featured 6 rare vocals by Julie Wilson backed by Ray Anthony & his Orchestra.
In tribute to this unique singer & actress here is a link to the soundtrack of “This Could Be the Night”, mastered from a fairly clean MGM LP. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for the share. I knew Julie, and was deeply saddened when I was told that she had passed away. She was warm, kind, gracious, and hilarious. One night when we were chatting, I asked her how she got her start; the detailed story she related was fascinating and honest, without a hint of ego or vanity. Although a stroke and her advancing years had virtually stolen her voice, she never lost her art, and she could still deliver a song with keen insight and gut-wrenching emotion.

R.I.P. Julie. You were one of a kind.

Thank you so much for this. I never was able to transfer this from the 1986 MCA Re-Issue vinyl (under the MCA Classic Soundtracks mantle) to mp3! This is amazing. 🙂
