"The Thing" game soundtrack, score or rip??

Anyone have or know if music was ever made available from this game (in any format)?

Any info on a link to the soundtrack, score, rip etc would be appreciated. Cheers!

VAGUE TITLE is so right:p:)!! Doing a search for "The Thing" will get you about "umpteen billion" hits on virtually everything! Anything you can come up with would be sincerely appreciated, Chocolate Misu! Cheers!

And after watching some of the game on youtube, I just have to ask is there really music in it or is it just the wind blowing through the whole thing? :/

If there is music in here, I can’t pull it out with the programs I have 🙁 If there are other rippers interested in what the files are……. a lot of .pak files, .irx files, .pss files, a .blk file, a .75, and .ico, a reg, and a blank1.raw.

edit – I’m gonna try a couple other programs……

I just can’t seem to get any audio out of that raw file….

Yeah,…I was afraid of that. I don’t have much experience playing the game (yet)..but from what I gather (and have discovered after some investigating) most of the sounds are of an ambient and "textural" nature (drones and pads and noises). I suppose those might be hard to extract or find. No worries, Misu. If you can snag a few files..great,…but if not I appreciate your efforts anyway! Cheers!

Wow, thanks Jessie! You’re right,…there isn’t much actual music there (and the cues are short),…but..what is there is ambient and slightly menacing sounding. I think I’ll attempt to loop and combine some of the tracks into longer, more listenable pieces. Anyway…thanks again! Cheers!

No worries, Chocolate Misu! I’m a bit new at "extracting" but I can handle the "looping" and "melding" parts. I have a plan for these tracks (thanks again Jessie) and hope to post some results as soon as I can. Much appreciation (once again) to you both! Cheers!

I’ve done a quick rip. I torrent downloaded the PC version and did a stereo mix recording session at the menu. Here you go if you want it. 🙂
