THE STING 1973 soundtrack by Scott Joplin & Marvin Hamlisch – New DSD remix/Remaster

George Roy Hill�s THE STING was one of the biggest hits of the early 1970s, winning 7 Academy Awards including one for Marvin Hamlisch�s brilliant adaptation of Scott Joplin rags incorporated into the film�s score. MCA Records (formerly Decca USA) released a best selling soundtrack LP which included most of the music used in the picture. Hamlisch and his co-arranger Gunter Schuller recorded the piano solos and later added the orchestral parts during the scoring sessions, but, only to the pieces that ultimately made it into the film�s final cut. Several outtake piano solos that were not used are included in this new remix/remaster which I made several years ago from a DSD archived tape source, bringing the album�s total time to 72 minutes, double the length of the MCA soundtrack album,. I hope you enjoy it.
