The Sly Collection – Ashif Hakik/Peter McConnell

I understand that there are a few rips of all four games in the Sly Cooper series already on the forums. However, in the PS3 remaster, the music for the Thievius Raccoonus sounds very different, much less synthesized (I think the music for the PS2 version was compressed due to technical limitations).

Also, I think that in Honor Among Thieves, some of the songs have intros that aren’t included in the PS2 rip that is already available. As for Band of Thieves, the cutscenes are not included in any rips, remastered or otherwise, but that’s just a trifle.

Could someone rip The Sly Collection, please?

Slowly getting it now. Will take some time as the collection is 19GB in size.

From what I’ve seen briefly in the files I’ve gotten already there is a mixture of IMA ADPCM stored inside FSB containers as well as PS ADPCM XVAG files 🙂

Upon further inspection the game stores everything inside singular archive packages. None of which have actually been worked out. I managed to get PSound to scan it and it brought up all the dialogue. Considering the first game used sequenced music I doubt they converted it to stream format for the HD collection and as such is probably unrippable without doing a line-in rip or someone reverse engineering the sound driver. I’m not sure about the 2nd or 3rd games though.

EDIT: I stand corrected. 3DMan has obtained the XVAG streams so the HD collection does use streamed formats for all three of the games 🙂

Aw bummer, does this mean we’ll never hear the Final Boss theme "A Strange Reunion" completely? The versions I found elsewhere don’t have the intro without the dialogue.

Probably 3DMan. I have since learned that Sly 2 and 3 both use stream formats so they are more likely to be ripped but I won’t since I don’t see the point in doing Sly 2 and Sly 3 without the first game in a rip.

Maybe one day we might have a way to have a complete rip of the trilogy if a way to properly rip sequences arises.
I’ll guess that I have to content myself with your Thieves in Time rip, my second favorite Sly soundtrack.

I’m bumping this ’cause I managed to obtain the XVAG streams of the first game’s music, though its from the slightly remade soundtrack that they had in the HD Collection, but hey it’s better than nuthin’ (The only things missing are the music from the credits and the animated cutscenes).

I am a bit clueless. It wasn’t the first game that was the issue. It was Sly 2 and Sly 3. All of their files are stored inside a single archive container.

That’s why I never ripped it.

I uploading them to Mediafire as we speak, also I only have the streams for the first game and that was because I happened to be lucky enough to find ’em.

I suppose that you wouldn’t mind to rip Sly 2 and 3? Their streamed music formats are much, MUCH easier to rip compared to mess that was Sly 1, the hardest of the bunch to rip.

If you can provide me all the original streams for sly cooper, sly 2 and sly 3 from the HD collection, I will do it 🙂

Oh sorry, I got myself confused about this.

But here’s how it goes:

-I searched closely the files of the HD Collection’s disc and by a stroke of luck I found the streams of the first game hidden separately.

-The reason why I couldn’t rip the 2nd and the 3rd games was because they were stored in the aforementioned single archive containers (WAL. files to be precise) unless their music is also hidden elsewhere in the disc, but since their scores weren’t remade like the 1st game, It’s unlikely.

-I assumed from your comments that you could rip them since you mentioned that they were more "likely to be ripped".

Two things. Firstly, I should have said this years ago, but you responded quick! Thank you very much for that. Also, I assume that aside from cracking the Sly 1 streams no other progress has been made? That’s what I picked up 3DMan’s post. Nevertheless, I am amazed at what has been done.
