The Shooting Party is one of John Scott’s most elegant and refined scores and my own personal favorite of his works.
It’s a quiet and introspective, yet intriguing score full of exquisite shades. The second score, for the Hugh Hudson
documentary Birds and Planes, scored for a small ensemble, is a little strange.

A great and beautiful score!
I don’t understand why Scott is relatively underrated among film music composers. Perhaps most of his movies are considered "low-profile"…

ありがとうございます。 Many thanks again Wimpel. The Shooting Party is one of my favourite films and the the last film appearance by the great James Mason. The music is elegant, very English in the style of Elgar and suits the film perfectly.
