Getting this and the 2nd OST for Haikyuu!! in the same day is a dream come true. Personally I think Yuki and Hiroyuki need to team up for an anime project sometime. They’ve already done it for TV dramas and they both work for the same company. Yuki’s popularity likely spiked with his latest score as well (the anime sold incredibly well and is already greenlit for a second season). Make it happen anime gods! >:/

I’m loving these early leaks though. If only this happened with more people than just Sawano =/.

A lot of complaints seem to be circulating that Hiroyuki’s style is just getting repetitive at this point, but I’d like to put forth the argument that he is slowly expanding his musical horizon. And this soundtrack is a testament to that. It’s so much more than his usual brand of instruments; the track "EP←K" exemplifies his endeavors to successfully offer diversity for the listener. Overall, his work pays off and I look forward to more from him. All that I could ask for now is to give David Whitaker more of a spotlight, as he has been strangely absent since 2011.

Would it be to much to ask for a Loseless version? If you can’t is totally fine, once again thank you!!!

Thanks for the share. I wish Kill la Kill had leaked this early last year! But I did have tons of fun in the /a/ anticipation threads. This score is pretty interesting coming from Sawano, seems out of his comfort zone a bit, which is quite nice given how decidely meh AldnoahZero’s OST was.

Also on a side note, I’m curious why this and the Seraph of the End PV both say "Music Produced by Hiroyuki Sawano" instead of "Composed by". Seems like an odd thing to promote, unless he’s pulling a Zimmer and has a bunch of composers mimicking his style in a studio somewhere.

Yasushi Horiguchi is credited as director and co-producer so if Sawano had a ghostwriter helping him out on this one it was likely Horiguchi.

Considering that Sawano is credited with several of the instruments on this soundtrack personally though I doubt Sawano pulled a Zimmer here.

I also give credit where credit is due: using the bandoneon, especially for battle tracks, was an inspired choice on Sawano’s part.

Good point. I’m just more curious as to why this and Seraph’s PV credit him as just "Music Producer". I understand the role of a music producer, it just seems an odd choice of credit to me.

Apparently Hiroyuki Sawano is producing and co-composing the music with Takafumi Wada, Asami Tachibana, and Megumi Shiraishi. That might have a reason why it says "music producer".
