I was thinking about fanfiction and random NPCs, when I happened to remember a certain key item one recieves in Lindblum: Lowell’s Autograph.

The key item in question, I soon realized, was…

COMPLETELY. USELESS.

And soon after I remembered that there was one other item Lowell gave us – the key item, the Moogle Suit.

That too, I realized with growing horror, was…

ALSO. USELESS.

Dun-dun-dunnn.

And so, I ask those wary travelers of this forum, as I will no doubt ask many in the coming weeks leading up to Anime Expo:

What the soddin’ hell are these things even USED FOR?

Nothing… these items are completly useless

They raise your Treasure Hunter ranking. A sidequest which is… basically there for the sake of you saying, "I did it yay go me." And you can learn Four-Armed Man’s name if you get the highest ranking, but that’s it.

Whether or not you want to collect the goodies of the FF9 world like that is up to you. That’s all those key items do.

The Southern Tropical Outfits are basically a throwback to the "Imp" equipment from Final Fantasy VI. Final Fantasy IX is full of such little references. Basically, the point of this equipment is to actually reduce your stats for those who want to add a challenge to the game — i.e., try fighting Ozma with it on.

As for the game’s myriad Key Items, yeah, useless for the most part, except for raising your Treasure Hunter rank.

Fuck you, Agent. Aren’t I on your ignore list? Honestly, fuck yourself.

Well I never. Once deciphered, your gibberish proves you to be quite the offensive little troll. For shame.

Yea useless items suck. Reminds me of games where you get this item that seems to have a ultra-special name. I usually don’t sell it because maybe someone will gimme something cool for it if I hold onto it later on in the game. Only to find out that it was useless afterall.

I hate you ultra-special named useless item.

Sain: The one you seek has it’s name starting with the Hebrew word for "going in circle" (lol)…

Hope that helps.

Gilgamesh is a hidden Guardian Force in VIII, a great villain in V, a bonus esper in VI, a boss in XII and a secret boss in the Dawn of Souls version of FFI.

1. 90% of all key items are usless (excluding fact that they raise treasure hunter rank)
2. collecting the chocograph treasures also helps raise your rank
