This is probably asking an awful lot and may be impossible, but I’ll ask anyway. In the past couple of years, we’ve been lucky enough to see releases of Les Baxter scores for many of the Edgar Allan Poe movies of the early 60s, such as The House of Usher and The Raven. But "PIT" will probably never have a release as I heard some time back that the tapes were lost or destroyed. I just wondered if anyone who had a copy of the recently released BluRay version might have a go at ripping the music score–hopefully without FX–because it’s one of Baxter’s finest. I have no idea how possible this might be, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to have a copy of this fine score. In return, I’d be happy to share any of my extensive movie soundtrack collection or other stuff I have. Thanks for your time.

PS: I just learned the Steelbook version has an isolated music track, if that helps anyone.

The isolated track is actually music & sfx (which is widely available, posted here Thread 162758) and this is all that remains of the score – surprisingly even with today’s technology it’s still not possible to isolate the music.

Thank you for that. I’ve always wanted the real score for Hitchcock’s PSYCHO, not one of the many re recordings. I know there’s a bootleg copy available from the Laserdisc isolated score…but as you said, with today’s technology I would have thought anything was possible.

The only thing is that this new blu-ray of Pit would hopefully have better quality sound. I have had the M&E of Pit for 6 years now, but the quality was always fair. Hoping that someone indeed does a new rip of the blu-ray Pit and that the sound is superior. Heres hopin’!!!
