I’ve heard of this album recently, about this Howard Shore LOTR album called "The Lord Of The Rings: The Rarities Archives". I previously thought my LOTR music collection was (to an extent) complete. Does this album exist? Is it an official release, or just a fan rip edit sort of thing?

It was a book by Doug Adams detailing Shore’s scores for the films and published in 2010.
A companion 22-track CD was included and is pretty easy to find on da Webz.
And – before you ask – no ebook or scan of the actual book has ever turned up. If it does, I’d love to know…

That’s because it’s a pricey book with a nice design and no one wants to ruin it making scans. I paid good money for mine!

why cant people use google to begin with ?

Even then, it could still be thought of as a bootleg.
