For the initial recordings, I used the standard command-line version of M1 to export each track to .wav from the arcade ROM, then trimmed the files and converted to mp3 with a separate audio program.

I later found that the music I recorded through M1 didn’t sound quite right compared to what you hear during gameplay. In particular, certain channels in track 3 and 8 were being drowned out by the backing instruments. I decided to rerecord the arcade soundtrack again directly from the ROM’s sound test mode, this time using the Model 2 emulator along with Audacity.
