I am FAR from being a fan of these recordings by Rumon Gamba (seriously, I doubt he even listens to the original music in the films… the poophead)- and am greatly disappointed that when the opportunity finally arose to at least attempt to record the exotic score from the masterful Black Narcissus (the last 19 minutes Michael Powell filmed to the already existing music!) that less than 14 miserable minutes was the best they could muster!

Nevertheless, the take on The Red Shoes is lively and the arcane and always fascinating ondes martenot is exceedingly ostentatious.

Silly Rabbits,

If you read my post it says YOU PM ‘ME" if interested.

I’ve made enough effort without monitoring this thread (though I would like people to pass comment on the scores).

Geesh…..

Please try and read the entire post that started this thread.

I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS REQUEST PEOPLE TO PM *ME* when it comes to collecting a link. ALWAYS. 😉

And I always ask folks to comment on the music as well. I am funny that way.

Thanks for the link, Phideas. I was not familiar with Easdale’s music beyond The Red Shoes. I particularly like Gone to Earth and Kew Gardens.
