Once upon time, in Weston Super Mare,
There lived a gentleman, with a fine head of hair.
He was great in stature and fair in face,
There were no finer lad in all that place.

Who is this man? I heed your call,
The one who is great, fair and tall!
His parents named him Larry,
And he had a mighty crush on the maiden Sally.

Sally was a bar-maid of high accolade,
She was also a big fan of the drink Lucozade.
Never had you seen a more fairer dame,
Her large jugs…of foaming ale…were her claim to fame.

She appeared in Larry’s dreams every night,
Alas, his lack of confidence was his overall plight.
He tried and tried, to pluck up some courage,
But try as he might, it was something he just couldn’t manage.

But one sunny Wednesday afternoon,
Larry espied some wonderful flowers in bloom.
A cunning stunt then struck his mind,
He’d give pick these wonderful pansies for Sally and true love he would find!

This was his downfall, as you shall soon know,
Poor Larry, he was as clueless as a drunk ho,
He had no idea that these flowers he decided to pluck,
Would be the destroyer of all his luck.

Sally you see, had a fatal condition,
That when a gent offers her flowers, she would lose all recognition
That he even existed, or breathed at all,
And now Larry is about to recieve his fall.

Larry stepped up, happy as can be,
To offer his gift and bring Sally such glee,
But instead she turned around and looked him square,
Then laughed so hard, its a wonder she still has hair.

Larry you fool! Is what she shouted out,
I should give you an almighty clout!
You dont have a car, you have very little money
How on Earth did you think you could have this honey?

With that, she turned away
And Larry’s legs began to give way.
How could it be that she was so cruel?
Larry felt like an almighty fool.

He wont home and cried and cried,
While Sally went off with some prat she espied.
He wore fancy clothes, had a big car,
Sometimes it seems that people judge you on how rich you are.

THE END

i dont know what the hell that was, but i just typed it, so there we go

A bittersweet tale that both mocks the normal way of things that occur in life, and yet somehow gets across stuff that I can relate to through poor Larry. Well written Meph, this was very enjoyable to read.
