Anyone picked up Tony Hawk Underground? It’s a pretty fun game and we can play online! 😀

My friend bought it over today and we had some fun with the story mode missions and stuff. One of the cool features is that you can WALK!

I wanna get THUG but I’m very short on cash, so I can only get one game for Christmas, and I choose FFX-2. 😀 I have to wait to get THUG, JAK II, and Ratchet II later on next year once they become greatest hits.

I’ve heard THUG’s game engine is still similar to Tony Hawk 4’s, which is similar to Tony Hawk 3’s. Any take on that?

Yes, the Engine is VERY similiar… but there are a few good changes from each game.

THPS3 introduced Reverts and the ability to change to different tricks during rail grinding.

THPS4 introduced more ground tricks and spine transfers and a different way of doing goals and missions.

THUG introduced walking and being able to pick up your board during a middle of a combo and walk a short distance and quickly go back on your board to continue the combo. A story mode about you (your skater guy… you can’t use pro skaters as the main guy for story mode) and the ability to have YOUR OWN FACE for your custom skater (get a good webcam, take a picture of your face, send it to the e-mail provided, they’ll give you the rest of the instructions…. but you have to have a net connection on your PS2)

Oh and… more cool stuff. 😀

But the engines are indentical, with those extra exceptions.
