So you want to know how I get those files and how i convert then huh..? All right then let’s begin

FIRST you need a 3DS Rom Decrypt that you can get here :

Next you need foobar & this Plugin : foobar2000: Components Repository – vgmstream decoder (http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_input_vgmstream)

Be sure to go on library to activate the plugins

And then you can convert those files into MP3,WAV,FLAC ECT….

You can convert to 320 kbps in Audacity you know. You should fix that – everyone is probably looking for the final boss song, and that doesn’t seem to be in the 320 download.

It looks like some of the FLAC files are 4 channels. I can’t quite tell the difference between them. How did you handle that when converting to mp3? I’m not super used to the soundtrack so I’m not sure how they should be handled in terms of which goes to which ear, or if there are different versions or mixes in the same file.

Well some music are 4 tracks on some 3DS song (BCSTM) and if you use Foobar to convert to MP3 you’ll get a error message…So it better to convert to wav format and edit the music to 4 at 2 track with audacity and export to mp3 BTW Make sure to go to amplify Those 2 track

If I use Audacity to convert the FLAC to WAV, it mixes all 4 tracks down to a single channel, so that doesn’t work. I can edit the FLAC file in Audacity though, and am trying to figure out which tracks to route to which channel (left or right) and which tracks to either mix or discard. I can also maybe sit down and listen sometime to an in-line rip and try to figure out which tracks are used and how.

So try with to convert the MP3 files to Flac and maybe the problems will be resolved …

I get the exact same distortion, same as in Mario Kart 7. I use iTunes to play the files

If it’s what I think you’re referring to, where it sounds like bubbles in a stream and high pitched squeaky pops…. the best solution is…

Open the MP3s in foobar2000, then convert to any format (even WAV, if you wish — as you can just "Create AAC file" in iTunes when importing the WAVs anyway) — and no, Creating AAC file from the MP3 itself in iTunes doesn’t fix it.

I think "garbled" is the right word. Like listening to a CD with very bad scratches.
