Suicide was something cool and bad in Final Fantasy IV… It was cool in the storyline to see party members sacrificing themselves so that you can continue your journey! Cid exploding himself, palom and porom turning into stone, Tellah being killed by Golbez… but I had some problems with it too… Because I couldn’t spend some time leveling by fear that the character might be next. It made the game even more difficult (I was playing the hard type…) and a little frustrating!

Well, actually, there really was no incidence of permanent suicide. I think Tellah’s was officially a kamikaze, and all the others came back (even Cid, after blowing himself up).

Not to mention the fact that characters come and go throughout the game, so the parts where the characters either die or seemingly die aren’t extreme or unique cases.

Well I know that they don’t really die but I liked the way they sacrafice themselves. To be fair, I was not happy to discover that they were all alive!!!

It made FF IV seem a little bit comical, but it is a theme that runs through almost all FF’s or at least a drastically near-death experience. It’s almost as comen as 2defeating the bad guy" at the end of a game.

I like the story of FFIV, in my opinion is one of my favorite FF (if not my favorite)
