Strange Thing Happened After Downloading

I downloaded a couple of songs out of Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask original soundtrack, and while they would play in RealPlayer, they would not save the tracks to my library. Windows Media Player wouldn’t even play the tracks. iTunes let me play and add them to my library, but I was unable to change any track info (album, artist, and such.) It just kept reseting.
My question is, is it the files tht are screwy or is it just my computer?

The crux of this problem may indeed be the files. However, have you checked your media player settings so they’re compatible with MP3 files? (I’m presuming they’re MP3.)

Yeah, they’re all compatible with mp3s.
I guess I just have to wait until the files are fixed.

If you can find an audio program to convert all the files into MP3s once again, maybe that’ll solve your problem. I’ve encountered a problem with the Super Mario 64 soundtrack on Galbadia Hotel. The audio files woulden’t play in Windows Media Player, but they were functional in Winamp, untill I amended it.

Have you checked to make sure that the files are not marked read-only? I’ve had trouble in the past with a few songs because of this. You can find the check box in the properties pane of the file.

Lol. I know, I know: iTunes is the devil. But I’ve tried a lot of mp3 players, and it’s my favorite.

Oh, and the files weren’t read-only. I checked: there was no little check in the properties pane.
I might try Mario Kinnikuman’s suggestion. Any programs you’d recomend for use?

Wavepad and Goldwave are two that I highly recommend. Although, Wavepad would probably be the eclectic choice between the two, as it’s sufficent for your problem sans the advanced complexity of Goldwave.

wavelab is the best program.
i guess it would be though considering its made by steinberg who make cubase among various other professional audio tools.

i use it when im cutting up samples to use in songs and stuff and when i had the same problem as you, i opened them in wavelab and saved them under a different name and the new files work perfectly.
