Desktop speakers, you can get normal stereo sound from it. But, don’t expect anything major in terms of actual binaural listening epxeriences.
It also can’t be "reverse engineered" to convert into 5.1 (very well).
It’s a sophisticated ‘matrix’, it’s not discreet surround sound.
