Hello,
I’m trying to track down a copy of the Season 1 version of the theme music to Star Trek: The Next Generation.
It’s subtly different to the version used in season 2 and then seasons 3-7 and I can’t find it on any of the official albums.
Any help would be much appreciated!

The Season 1 Themes (both original and McCarthy’s rejected theme) are featured on the La-La-Land reissue of Encounter At Farpoint from 2014. There are links for it on the forum somewhere.

This thread will probably need to be moved to the request section but I’d love to see this as well. I’ve always wondered why we’ve never got the exact theme arrangement from season 1 on any of the official soundtracks. I do have it without narration but it’s got sound effects.

NCFirebolt21 is right that it is the same theme but on the albums, it’s missing the high pitched violins which are present through the tv arrangement.
