I was in the store the other day and I was looking at the magazines and on one of the gaming magazines, I noticed a headline that said that Squaresoft is once again going to start developing games for Nintendo. I didn’t buy the magazine, so I don’t know anything further about this. Anybody heard anything about this?

This has been accepted as fact for a while now. Square will be making a Final Fantasy-branded game for the GameCube and quite a few GBA games, the most notable of which is probably a handheld version of Final Fantasy Tactics. I can’t remember if they’ve announced any other GBA games.

Anyway, details are really quite skimpy. We don’t know what kind of game this "Final Fantasy branded GameCube game" will be, but it’s no joke – part of the deal is that it’s being funded by some of Hiroshi Yamauchi’s own money, so this game is going to be big news whatever it is. Will it be good? I sure do hope so.

I’ve read that they will be making Final Fantasy’s 7,8,and Tactic’s for the GBA but they will be shorter versions of the PSX version’s.

I believe a PC version of Final Fantasy X is in the works but it is currently Japan-only. I suppose it’s possible it’ll come out in the US someday, but I really don’t know.

I can guarantee, however, that Final Fantasy XI will come out for the PC, so you’re definately covered there.

IMO the Final Fantasy games should be ported to all games consoles and computer platforms, it is just so cool!:p
