Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for the SEGA Genesis

This may not be a perfect representation of the description in the title, but it’s all me and my program could come up with. 26 tracks of what Sonic 4 might sound like on the Genesis, taken from both episodes.

Made it like I always do, MIDI to MP3.

Eh, I’m sure you did what you could do with what you had. I don’t think there are enough people who have even made enough midis for Sonic 4 yet (especially episode II).

Hahaha, I do what I can. Y’know, as most of 4’s songs can’t hold much to the originals, Sky Fortress from Episode II was actually pretty good.

This sounds like you’re not using (just) the Ultimate MegaDrive Soundfont.

Ahaha, hate to ruin a good compliment, but that’s EXACTLY what I did. That’s all Ultimate MegaDrive, no more or less.

Bloody hell, you’re good with it! I can’t get anything to sound quite that good using TUMS.

Really? All I do is Internet for good MIDIs, run them through a soundfont and convert them to MP3. Maybe you just haven’t found the right MIDI, is all. I love Ultimate MegaDrive, I use it for a lot of my stuff here.

Some of the music in sonic 4 wasn’t . . . too bad. Ironically the bonus stage music was the one I liked most and it’s right out the original . . .

I never hated it, but it took me a while to like it. It just seems a little lacking in comparison to the original. Like if the classic music was a metal or leather phone protector case and 4’s music was made out of plastic. Odd comparison, but that’s all I got at the moment.

It’s a pretty good comparison. I don’t hate it either, but it really does lack in comparison to the classics.
