Sonic Heroes

For the record, I have absolutely no interest in actually discussing Sonic Heroes.

What this thread is about is the fact that my little brothers rented it, and have been playing it non-stop, and it’s funny because Knuckles has a move he does where every single time he does it, he exclaims, "SHIT!" really loudly, and it seems it’s a very important part of the game as I keep hearing Knuckles yelling "SHIT!" all over the family room.

So I’d recommend picking this game up, because it’s hilarious to hear Knuckles yelling "SHIT!" over and over again. Especially if you do the move many times in a row, really fast. It goes, "SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT-SHIT!!!"

I laughed a lot.

Is the game any good though?

… I don’t remember that, but, I didn’t play the game for very long because I thought it was incredibly awful. I would rent it again just to hear that, though!

Sonic has been going down the drain for years now. Year after year, another Sonic game or two will come out, trying to revive the series. But, it just doesn’t seem to be working.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, now there is a great game!

SA 1 is also pretty rad.

It might be worth renting that game just for the laugh factor.

Yeah, I have it cause I’m a huge sonic fan and I wanted a next-gen sonic game for my PS2 (despite it now being f-ed up). Anyways, I think it’s a pretty good game. But I know most people would get tired of it after they beat it once, so yeah. Otherwise, it’s a fun game. I think I wrote a review up on GameFAQ’s reviews.

And yeah, it sounds like Knuckles saying that, but I doubt it. Must be something else. It reminds me in Streets of Rage 3 with Blaze. 😉

I haven’t played it, but have you ever thought for a moment that maybe you have just decided in your own mind he’s yelling shit? I know my friend always thought street fighter characters were saying curse words when really it was grunts, battle cries, and Japanese.

I got a demo of this game with something or other.

I tried it out, and it was horrible.

What is worse then the game, however, is the theme song.

And the fact that Merl thinks it’s funny to randomly sing "Sonic heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeros!" every so often. ; ;

That theme song is hilarious. I would randomly sing it myself, if I knew it better.

It’s not nearly as hilarious as when Knuckles yells "SHIT!" all the time for no reason, though.

No, you are wrong. He is undeniably saying "SHIT!" I mean, not just like, "shit." He’s not just "yelling shit." He’s going, "SHIT!" It’s so fucking funny.

It’s awful. I played it about 5~ months before it came out, and thought "this sucks, but it’s beta." Then it came out and was identical. That made me sad.

Were you surprised, though? Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were turds as well. They aren’t really "Sonic" games so much as "stupid shitty platformers where you only get to play as Sonic occasionally and the rest of it is like playing Banjo Kazooie, which is one of the most boring games ever made."

If Sega would actually make a REAL SONIC GAME again, I’d be interested in playing it, but this whole "lots of really lame ass characters who move like snails and defeat the whole point of the series" thing is not for me.

Funk you, Sonic Adventure was a good game. Not a good sonic game, but a good game. The fast sonic bits were great fun too 😀

SA2 was fucking awful though. Really. RUNNING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND.

Is Sonic Heroes on GCN at 60FPS? I almost puked on the PS2 version. 🙁

Yes the Knuckles thing amused me too, my sister kept asking why he says that.

I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t let him say ‘shit’ though, that’s why I’m going to rent it again and try to make out what he’s saying.

Sonic Heroes runs at 60 fps on Cube, as far as I’ve been told. In fact, of all 3 versions, I have heard the Cube one to be better.

I have yet to try it, but don’t really want to…I long for a true Sonic game, the ones that made me enjoy the series, like Sonic II and III , and especially the Sonic III and Knuckles combo. That was the ultimate Sonic to me , no contest there.

I did try Sonic Adventure, but the thing is, I don’t like playing as characters that are too slow…Tails and Knuckles are okay, but when I tried Amy…Ugh. When you play as Sonic, I thought it was great, but otherwise…

Riana, I’m with you. I like it. It’s not all that bad at all.

And the PS2 version runs at 30 fps, while the other two run at 60 fps. Yeah, the PS2 version is nowhere near as good as the other two, but it is still playable, and fun!

I’d love to play a Sonic Adventure game, but too bad I only have a PS2. And yeah, Sonic 3 and Knuckles was awesome!!!
