something interesting about most Anime

Is it just me or does most of your Anime Chairactors NOT look Japaneise (hope I spelled that right). I have noticed from the few I have seen (DBZ, Sailor Moon, Cutie Honey, Runic Explorers, etc) That NONE of them look that way. Im not saying that is a bad thing but you would think being that these are all made in Japan they would look that way?

Actually I don’t know about Runic Explorers if it is considered Anime I guess it would be?

Goku looks pretty japanese to me… Anyways, it’s true that some characters don’t look japanese, but a lot of the characters do. Shinji from evangelion is one example. Then there’s Kenshin, Kazuki from comic party, Hibiki from Vandread, Orphen, Sakuragi, Sakura, etc.

I’ve noticed that to. Some look japanese. Some don’t.

I heard a while ago that it was because moast anime characters are supposed to be north american. The person who told me said it was because moast of them think that we have realy big looking eyes, and thats why anime chars. have such big eyes.

Well, most of anime first came from Japan, That’s way.But, it doesn’t matter because almost all anime are good like DBZ,Kenshin,Cowboy Bebop, EVA, Gundam(Me:D ),Sakura( the girls really like it, because it’s cute:) ), and many other.

That’s why it doesn’t matter(Japanese or Non-Japanese)I really like to see anime;)

Not all anime play in Japan, and I think it would be boring and dull for the character designers to create only Japanese looking characters… Take Slayers, for example, and imagine everybody with black hair.
It’s a matter of style, too. I could not tell a person’s origin by an Akira Toriyama artwork.

how many of them claim to be japanesse, and any how the style pf drawing not trying to draw the japanesse

i think akira and princess mononoke are very asian. and alos this other manga i saw that my friend got but i forgot…damn, what was it called…

I’ve noticed that too…. some animes have japanese characters though. Guyver, (my personal fave) has almost all Japanese characters, taking place in Japanese high school and all…

Black heaven has all japan characters (except for the alien race).

i actually dont think kenshin looks very japanese at all. if your taking their clothes into consideration then forget that.

i’d go with the faces.

Sure Kenshin looks japanese. If he doesn’t look japanese then I don’t know what he looks like.

I think a lot of the characters in anime don’t look japanese because they aren’t meant to be japanese. And just because they speak japanese doesn’t mean they have to be japanese.

that makes sence untill you realise theyr local IS japan.

but even then. i still can’t remember this manga i saw that REALLY has jap looking characters. you mayb have seen some pictures of them in what youd think were 3d renderings.
