Since I’m a newbie…

About every battle I go into I have to use a potion, I am at the beggining of the game, just learned Rikku’s name, and I’m worried I’m maybe missing something.

If you think you are missing something, just take your time, hang around in some place, have a closer look at everything and fight battles, teach your characters skills and so on. 🙂

Well, since you are at the beginning of the game, you probably are going to be a little weak against the monsters that you are fighting. If you just jumped off the Al Bhed Ship with Rikku, hang around the water for a little while and fight Piranhas and steal Grenades from them. They don’t give you much experience, but when you have a good stash of Grenades, it makes the beginning a lot more easier.

If you really feel lost you can always look in a player’s guide (last resort)

yea just make sure that u try and talk to every one and also alway look for chests around and just always look for hidden places. if u do that u wont miss a thing. also try and level up a lot while u can at the begining cause u dont want to be stuck at a really hard boss and have to spend hours to level up just to almost beat him ( belive me it is no fun i’ve dont that) if u do that things will be dandy like sandy
