I recently deleted my entire itunes library in an attempt to finally satisfy my finicky-ass hard drive’s memory storage issues, and of course this was before I realised that I couldn’t just reupload everything back to the computer via my ipod.

So, can anyone please direct me to, or perhaps share, a free program that’ll let me rip my ipod library back to itunes. And I mean totally free, not just free to download only to find you have to pay for the shit mid-install. Annoying bait-and-switch fuckers. >:(

umm anyway, yeah, any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you.

Have a look in the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder, iTunes occasionally makes backups without telling you. If you deleted those too then I’m afraid there’s very little you can do to restore your library. There is a program to extract your iPods library but it is only for Mac.

If you just want the music and don’t care about play counts, ratings and stuff like that. First open iTunes without your iPod plugged in. Go into the options and choose "Disable Automatic syncing for iPhones and iPod". Close iTunes then plug in your iPod. Make sure your computer is set to Show Hidden Files and Folders. In the iPod Drive you can now see a Hidden Folder which contains your music.

Thanks, but neither option has produced results. I did manage to find music on my ipod drive and even copied them to computer(a process that took several hours) but itunes refuses to add them in a folder format, only single files, one by one, and at close to 6000 songs this is less than optimal.

Thanks again, but honestly, I’m very frustrated at this point and am only interested in a ipod to computer program that is free to download AND install. Anyone?

iTunes does have a "Add Folder to Library" option, have a look under file.
