Shantae: Half-Genie Hero: The Definitive Soundtrack

New Shantae game came out, hype, so what does that mean? New Shantae soundtrack! I was so excited, but, for whatever reason, the official soundtracks and the gamerips do not loop the songs like a typical video game OST (Play once, play again, play again and fade), they only played through each song once and then faded. This is fine, because some of the loops are really long in this game, but at the same time I found myself disappointed with all of the soundtrack options available (Also some tracks were missing from the official soundtracks! Those are here too!). So, being just a tiny bit OCD when it comes to this kind of thing, I took matters into my own hands, ripped the files from the game (direct to wav), painstakingly found the loop point and looped the songs manually in Audacity, did some general fixes to make some tracks sound better (eliminate popping/static in a few tracks), adjusted the volumes so they all are very close, and, while I was at it, did a tiny, tiny bit of EQ just to make them sound more full. Then I converted to FLAC, tagged, made some fresh album art, and converted to mp3 as well. I assure you, the loop points are super clean and the tracks as a whole sound (at the risk of sounding snobbish) better than the official soundtracks.

Actually, listened to it again, and there are subtle differences. The loop actually is correct, and I can say with certainty that every song in game plays once in the ogg file. It’s all good. Again, glad everybody is loving this, and I appreciate the feedback too! 🙂
