game wont let me log on and everything works on my pc
and there was no scedualed maitenence for today it was gonna be on the 20th so does anyone no whats going on?
Apparently there’ve been DDoS attacks on POL, making it a pain for people to log in. A kitty posted this on another message board:

On the Internet, a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is one in which a multitude of compromised systems attack a single target, thereby causing denial of service for users of the targeted system. The flood of incoming messages to the target system essentially forces it to shut down, thereby denying service to the system to legitimate users.
A hacker (or, if you prefer, cracker) begins a DDoS attack by exploiting a vulnerability in one computer system and making it the DDoS "master." It is from the master system that the intruder identifies and communicates with other systems that can be compromised. The intruder loads cracking tools available on the Internet on multiple — sometimes thousands of — compromised systems. With a single command, the intruder instructs the controlled machines to launch one of many flood attacks against a specified target. The inundation of packets to the target causes a denial of service.
While the press tends to focus on the target of DDoS attacks as the victim, in reality there are many victims in a DDoS attack — the final target and as well the systems controlled by the intruder.
Also last night people were experiencing problems with the search and AH functions, but I’m not sure if these issues are related.. Today’s maintenance could have been a fix of some sort.

Doubtful… as far as I know it’s the same ddos attacks we’ve been hearing about.

/cry >< i had just hit level 32 monk when i d/c and havent got a buffer be hard to get a team now

And for Ifrit’s Cauldron, it’s located in Yhoator Jungle, and quite accessible for mining if you happen to have your own means of sneak and invis. I won’t go into any detail, but will say that whm and rdm are great choices for this, and as long as you have both sneak and invis, you’re good to go.
Mining there does get easier with experience, but it certainly isn’t for everyone. Lotsa risk taking + death + deleveling involved. :3

updates seem to take forever lol ><
right now i am trying to make a list of all my thoughts so i can make a post hope some people will help clear some things out concerning some in game items affects my equipment etc..
