Sergei Rachmaninoff: Complete Works for Piano & Orchestra (VMG, 1990)

No, this isn’t a reupload of the first Rachmaninoff set I shared. Turns out I actually possess another version of this composer’s complete music for piano and orchestra, this one under the care of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Abbey Simon, and Leonard Slatkin.

Please don’t ask whether the Philips or the Vox release is better or worse. I haven’t listened to either of them in years, and even if I had, my ear’s not educated enough to pick up the oh so many subtle little ways in which one performance differs from another. In any case, enjoy this release and leave any comments below.
