Secret of Evermore

How many people here have heard of it? It’s a superb game the stands with FFVI and Chrono Cross, but it probably hasn’t received as much hype or fame.

Secret of Evermore was, and still is, complete BOLLOCKS.

Secret of Evermore = sucks.

Heard of it, played it, beat it. Very fun game that I wish I still had a copy of.

Or if you just listen to a person that has a lot of video game knowledge and tells you that it’s worth playing?

I loved Secret of Evermore. Yeah the main character may be a little kid who strikes down enemies with a bone early on in the game, but that’s nothing to complain about. I like the fighting style, the storyline, and pretty much everything else about it. Sure, it’s not as good as Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy IV, but it has been overlooked. And who doesn’t love having their cute little puppy transform into several different breeds of dogs, including a robotic dog?

The game is terrible, and I say that without any reservation. To give you an idea of how much I hated it, I smashed the cartridge with a free weight. Yes, I literally destroyed it. I’ve never been that sure of something in my life.

Enjoyed the idea, wasn’t greatly fond of the battle system other than the alchemy setup. Still a game I wouldn’t mind playing again at some point.

Theres no point in starting a whole thread withou discussing why we feel the way we do about it.

I would never put it in the same ranking as FFVI or Chrono Trigger or Cross.
It is a pretty good Square game, but nothing great.
