Peter Tchaikovsky – [Russian Spectacular CD2 #05] Overture 1812

I’ve been to the live Greenville Symphony Orchestra a dozen times at least, they’re good. Edvard Tchivzhel is a rather energetic conductor on stage, I can hope I have the energy he sports when I reach his age. The ‘Greenville Peace Center’ (GSO’s home) is less than an hour’s drive from home. Catching a performance isn’t too difficult. Overture 1812 does not feature real cannons, but the kettledrum performance is pretty powerful none-the-less.
