RPGs set in a modern/contemporary setting

The beginning of Secret of Evermore, but then the game suddenly changes to different time settings so I guess it’s pointless to mention it here. Plenty of Japanese Rpgs might just fit but I can’t mention any, probably, I’m not so sure.

Nope, not talking about fantasy, medieval, post-apocalyptical or steampunk! I’m talking about RPGs that are set in a time that’s a lot something like our own lives, in a comtemporary world and such. No town inns, mages, or lizards here!

Honestly, I’ve never been too much attracted for all that fantasy settings myself. So I’m wondering how many modern-like RPGs we can list or remember (Or course, it’s not like any of those games doesn’t have ANY kind of fantasy or something of the sorts in it… don’t be too literal about that, I’m talking about the bigger picture)

I can only think of two:

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (PC) takes place entirely in 2000ish Los Angeles.

And Vampire the Masquerade Redemption (PC) kind of… The second half of the game plays out in the 20th century

I’ve thought of Secret of Evermore before making this thread as well, but it’s as you said… it’s just in that beginning of the game (as far as I know it), and soon after you’re in a jungle or something like that. So I omitted it >:

can only think of the persona series digital devil saga (that counts i think? set a few years from now in the game) and nocturne would like to know just looking over all my rpgs most of them are now either fantasy or sci-fi
