Has anyone encountered a decent RPG for the PS3 yet?

I’m reaching the point where i’ve apparently played just about every appealing RPG/action/adventure game on the PS2 that is popular (at least going by gamerankings.com.) I just don’t see anything special available on the PS3 yet.

According to wiki, there are over 300 games released for the PS3 and over 1700 for the PS2. All I can think is there much be piles and piles of rubbish there, unless there are some diamonds in the dirt waiting to be discovered. If I pull up the PS2 rankings on gamerankings.com I start running into games I don’t recognize after the 100th or so and with poor ratings to boot…

Folklore is a pretty good action/RPG.

I didn’t think the WII had many either. Am I wrong? I know of the Zelda game, but haven’t heard of anything else.

Yeah, the Xbox 360 is the console of choice for JRPG fans at the moment.

Which sucks, because most JRPG fans are PlayStation fanboys.

It’s pretty sad that most Final Fantasy fans will never get to play Lost Odyssey, as it plays identically to a main series FF game.

Sound as if you’re implying FF has an original formula.

Between the Xbox 360, WII, and PS3, which would you say has the most RPGs/Action Adventure games at the moment?

I’m not a RPG fan, but there’s a lot of good stuff being said about "Valkyria of the Battlefield". http://valkyria.jp

As for your second question, I don’t know how the current scene is but I’m certain that anytime soon Sony will get their momentum going and pretty much plow through the competition, namely when titles such as MGS4 and RE5 kick in.
Remember that even the almighty PS2 had a rather rough time at the beginning, to the point where it was even regarded as inferior to Sega’s DC.
