Like the title says, there’s a piece of music I heard in three Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter videos that are years old. Just recently I heard it used in another in another video as music in a video game. The way it gets used leads me to believe it’s royalty free/library/whatever music, or at least wasn’t something that was written for one specific occasion.

Here are the links where the music shows up.

https://youtu.be/TTz8BK0Vwxc?t=373 Achievement Hunter…well, just watch. They use a small bit of it again later in the video (from 2013)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSYRc5laSGY Achievement Hunter Let’s Play of Shark Attack Deathmatch. It can be heard throughout this one as the background music to the game, I think. Briefly heard at 14:25 and again 20 seconds later, for example (also from 2013)

https://youtu.be/Cg_COr4lpwg An early Rooster Teeth short. Very prominent in this one (from 2010)

https://youtu.be/zfonncRo-3w?t=972 the most recent one, which seems to be for the game over screen of the game being played (which I think could be the Nintendo Switch version, released 2019).

Can anyone identify this piece of music? Or have an idea where stuff like it could be found?

Could just be Kevin MacLeod or something from the APM library, although I tried exploring both and didn’t come across anything very close (those are about the only ones I’m familiar with). Thanks greatly to anyone who can help.

For the (so far) 94 people who have stopped in and viewed this thread, I thought I’d give an update on my findings.

In the time since posting this request, I’ve scoured APM as much as I could along with quite a few other libraries. I could not find it. So I ended up searching a bit for a download of the Shark Attack game and taking a peek at its files. Because of the engine this game was built with, audio files were in a strange format but were able to be imported raw into Audacity. The track was in the files generically named "SharkAttackMusic" and because of its original format, it had no metadata.

So, while I do have the music in clean form now, I still have no idea what it’s actual name and origin are. All I know is that the indie game can’t be the track’s origin, since the RT Short predates it by three years.

While I’m at it, there was another piece music I was after used in a Rooster Teeth video that I had much less to go from. It’s the swashbuckling action music from the early-middle part here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl0jm1Zrog4

By pure luck I stumbled across that track today as well. It’s called "Last Sky Pirate" by James Brett.
