Hans Zimmer said in an interview that he never listens to his stereo albums that makes me believe those recording sessions are recorded in 5.1 or 7.1. Does anyone know more?

Interview: DTS Headphone:X Debuts on Hans Zimmer’s ‘Man of Steel’ Soundtrack | High-Def Digest (http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/news/show/DTS_HeadphoneX_Debuts_on_Hans_Zimmers_Man_of_Steel _Soundtrack/11905)

I don’t know about Zimmer, but I’m definitely sure that the last two HPs were recorded in 5.1, because the stereo albums really sound so horirble. ON the other hand, I just bought the Inception DVD with the 5.1 soundtrack and sometimes it really crackles, like it was encoded badly, so I don’t know if Inception erally had a 5.1 recording. But I, too, would be very interested in finding out more about the recording process.

Somebody told me they had access to Kung Fu Panda in 5.1 but they were quite vague about it. I’ll press for more info (if any).

Hmmm, that’s interesting. No wonder the choir sounded low in the cds, in the film it had a better mix. I wish someone could share DH 1 and 2, with the 5.1 download.

The 5.1 download of DH2 is FAKE. Ordinary wav files WB put there to bullshit the public like they always do. As for the DH1, I’ll try to do something about it after the exams.

The 5.1 FAKE. Ordinary wav files

They would be Dolby Pro Logic I/II encoded. So not so ordinary.
Not suited to play back on a stereo system either as the coefficients for the downmix aren’t mixed for simple stereo.
Granted, it’s still fake. There would be no way to retrieve the original 5.1 as discretely as a natural 5.1 mix.

Exists a 5.1 (or 7.1) mix of every recording sessions?

Exists a 5.1 (or 7.1) mix of every recording sessions?

I imagine as they were making it.
If that’s what the director wants.
Afterall, they are originally scoring it for the movie which is either 5.1 or 7.1..
Whether they decide to keep it in that format for distribution is a completely different matter.
They probably downmix it to stereo right away and then burn the rest of the studio down, walking away in slow motion while gently tucking a tape cassette into their pockets.
They’re sick.
And they need our help.

Buy The Social Network soundtrack on blu-ray.
Send fanmail to Warner Bros and Hans Zimmer saying you love the 5.1 mix on the second disc of Inception as a bonus feature.
