I’d say Josh Homme was a great singer/songwriter – one of the best of the last decade. Trent Reznor’s a great…singer/songwriter, but his lyrics suck buttock. John Maynard is an overly whiny teenage-rock-idol type who I don’t really think is worth much. Mike Patton is probably my favourite singer/songwriter of all time, just in terms of preference, and he’s also my favourite accordion player of all time. Minotaur knows what i’m talking about.
Oh yes I do, (someone mentioned me from the top of there head! MMM, you’ve made me the happiest girl in the world!)
Anyway, I personally think the greatest all-round musician ever, has to be Jeff Buckley, the bloke could play guitar, piano and many other instruments, all very, very well. His vocals are just amazing, it can honestly send shivers down your spine, and he could write some great lyrics

Paul McCartney for his all around musicality. Guitar, bass, piano, drums, on and on and on. Hell, by the end of the White Album he was a better drummer than Ringo. (Not saying much, but still.)
Chet Atkins. I’m not a big fan of his music, but I respect his skill with a guitar. The finger-picking master.
(I don’t understand why people love Morello so much. The guy uses so many pedals and effects, his playing becomes an amusing novelty.)
Elvis – Why in god’s name no one has said Elvis yet I will never know. He is a legend in the rock world. Because he made rock cool.
Stevie Ray Vaughn – The man’s guitar playing make even me cry. If you hear "Texas Flood" live, you will weep. I’m not lying, it’s the most beautiful piece of art I’ve ever heard.

Note: I’m not really a girl, hahaha! LOLZ!…..Buckley was a wonderful musician, but I just think there was something lacking – like he was holding something back – with his stuff at times. I wish he’d’ve had another few albums to really explore his style with, you know?
Tom Waits – I reckon he has an awesome voice that he’s learned to contort in all sorts of cool ways over the years. For decades he’s been unique, a solidly great songwriter, skilled at a bunch of instruments. And plus he’s built up such a cool persona. Yeah, he’s Tom Waits, nuff said.
Yeah I know where you’re coming from, if you listen to ‘Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk,’ you do get a sense he was going towards the more ‘rocky’ side of his talents, you can tell from the unreleased tracks on the Grace Legacy Edition that there was definitley more to him, than just Grace, but for a guy who only managed to release one studio album in his time, he did pretty good.
Also another artist who should definitely added to any ‘Greatest Musical Artists’ list should be Prince. The guy could play many instruments, writes some great songs, and alot of his albums are just brilliant.
Yes. I’m confident this guy is one of the most musically talented people in the world. And I don’t give a shit if he’s a super fancy skilled guitar player, because he’s not. He’s a basic guitar player who uses what he does to such beautiful effect that it’s a million times better than some guy who wanks all over the fretboard with his fingers and doesn’t write a single interesting song or lyric in his career.
