Mega’s migration to mega.nz from mega.co.nz means that, like, every single MEGA link ever posted in here before a certain date is now broken. No, people don’t need to reupload, they just need to go to their MEGA account and grab the new link from their file folder. It’s just the link that is messed up, the file is still there.

Not only that, URL hashes have changed. This means you can’t just delete the .co part from the urls –

mega.co.nz/#!3nkdnwsu!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

As an example

is now

mega.nz/#!dfjnsml6!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

A hash change at the beginning of the URL there means that even though mega.co.nz links SHOULD be redirecting to mega.nz, they’re not.

JUST A HEADS UP! That’s why suddenly a lot of links are now broken. I’ve had to attempt to fix every single link I’ve ever posted now.

What happens if no link shows up at all? I have that for a couple of my files. I’d assume that means it was deleted but why would it still show up in my file folder?

Kinda weird how my links that got hit by this inconvenience are actually pretty recent while the older ones are relatively untouched.

Odd. Haven’t had that one yet.

Do you mean when you’re in the folder and right click it you don’t get a link?

Don’t expect that to last forever. Yesterday some of my mega.co.nz links were redirecting to mega.nz, but now they’re broken – yours might break very soon.

Yep. This happened to one of my recent uploads too. Only a couple months old.

I had to update my browser as the site failed to load the week after the change. It works now but this is a pain in the ass.
