The guy who acted in Catching Fire just died today. Darn, he was a good man. R.I.P. Too many good actors dying recently :/

Philip Seymour Hoffman dead at 46, I’m in shock I knew he had been battling a drug problem but what a talented actor and way too young.

R.I.P.

That’s too bad. I’ve really only seen him in MI3, but he seemed like a very good actor – even as a villain in the movie, he seemed strangely charismatic.

Rest in peace, Mr. Hoffman.

He was great in Capote and in a more limited role in The Big Lebowski among so many good roles in his career.

He was also in the recent Hunger Games film…how does the event of one of the actors dying affect the Mockingjay film which is in Post-Production? Do they have to re-film the entire movie. How does that all work? :/

If he filmed his scenes, I think they’d be included.

Assuming he’s already completed ADR for his scenes, the next film should be unaffected.

Mockingjay will be in two parts though, and according to IMDB, he was supposed to appear in both of those films..

According to a few articles, he was currently shooting pick up shots for both Part 1 and 2. Looks like we have another Paul Walker case here… R.I.P Phillip seymour Hoffman. Such a fantastic actor, and way too young. 🙁

He died not only from drugs but from stupidity. No sympathy here.

I see what you mean but Drug Addiction is a horrible illness considering he hadn’t used drugs in the last 20 years….. It seems from this early stage that he had an addiction to Prescription drugs which set him off again…. shame really a very talented actor

I’m totally shocked as well. Such a fantastic actor….I can name so many movies that I loved him in: Magnolia, Boogie Nights, Flawless, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Mission:Impossible III, Doubt, Capote, Punch Drunk Love etc etc and I still need to see a lot of them ("Happiness" is a movie I’d like to see sometime soon).

F*ck!…..46 is just too soon!! 🙁

I have been a fan of his ever since he played Dustin in Twister. Always good for a laugh.

Way too soon!

On the bright side, he won’t have to sit through the Oscars this year.

A bit morbid although I see your point.

Whatever people say about his drug habits,he was a great under-rated actor and had a great screen presence and always turned in a great performance unlike some other so called hollywood actors, who done a movie for a pay check,he did it for the love of acting..if you have not seen charlie wilsons war or red dragon..you need to…R.I.P..Mr Hoffman you will be missed

I heard he was friendly enough, but gave the cold shoulder to incompetent actors. That is a worthy trait.
