It’s the first time I have an opportunity to hear hq vinyl rip of the 1978 re-recording and it’s indeed exciting. Still, 2012 Tadlow/Prometheus remains my favorite, by far.

Curiosity, Miklos Rozsa used the song Hail Galba, from Quo Vadis? in Ben Hur, with the title Bread and circenses (Bread and Circus March).

excellent performance.

Yes. There are quite a few versions of Panem Et Circenses/Bread And Circus March (see FSM 5CD edition which I think has everything ever recorded for Ben-Hur). Similarly, some of Ben-Hur music was reused in ‘King of Kings’ OST.

Rozsa’s Decca recordings are fantastic. This LP does sound quite good (and thank you especially for not de-noising the crap out of it like other so-called "restorations" around here), although it doesn’t quite have the clarity of the excellent sounding Vocalion double-disc release with both Quo Vadis and Ben-Hur; it does have a touch more warmth, as one would expect coming from an LP.

Reading Christopher Palmer’s original liner notes from the scans was a nice treat. Thanks for the share!
