Quick Question on God of War for PS2

For any of you that have played it… what the hizzy are the red orbs for and how and why do you use them?

I have read the game manual and i have even read crap online… its not sinkin in to me and i am not catchin it…. i know i’m "dense" like that…

99.999999% of the walkthru’s do not even mention how to use them jus how to get em…

I know it must be a basic answer and so easy thats why its not even mentioned in the ten walkthru’s i went thru… but again i am simply jus not catchin it..

i would appreciate an explanation in laymens terms what, how, and why to use them…

aight well check it.. i jus passed pandaro’s temple.. and no joke i got like 33,678 red orbs right now….

so this power up you speak of seems kinda useless since i have gotten that far without doing anything wit these red orbs you speak of….

i jus happened to "pick" this game up the other day and popped that bad boy in and it was so iLL so i started rockin wit it and now i’m that far….

last game i bought and purchased and PLAYED was Tekken Tag Tournament the same day the PS2 came out….

I’ve never played the game, but from what I’ve read on walkthroughs just now, it sounds like pressing start brings up an upgrade menu. In general, upgrades make you more powerful.

Actually, isn’t there an in-game tutorial thing that pops up and tells you exactly how to do it after you get like 1,000 orbs?

all because you got to pandora’s temple without upgrading doesn’t mean anything. (especially if you’re playing on like..easy diffculty lol)

anyway. if you’ve ever played onimusha, you’ll know exactly what they are for.

press start on your control

select the weapon or magic you want to upgrade

hold x down to fill up the "bar" with the orbs

keep holding it…

keep holdint it…

and…….BOOOONG!! upgrade complete. your magic or weapon are now more opwerful than before and you have unlocked NEW COMBOS AND SPECIAL MOVES!!!

there is a tutorial the minute you land at the port in your boat with the naked chicks on the bed that you can fuck all night long.

i highly recommend maxing out the chain swords cause they give very very very very useful and important new combo/special movies and special powers.
