If I were to find a specific soundtrack in the form of a system-based filetype (IE spc., vgm., etc.) from another gamesite and converted that music to MP3, would I or should I give credit to the person who originally ripped the game music?

you should. it’s a lot harder to rip to those file types than it is to convert those types to mp3.

That’s what I’ve been doing. It takes allot to rip the music from games and it’s only right to give credit to who did it.

Then give credit to those who made the music in the first place, by putting their name on it and giving them money.

Ditto that. However, a rip is free. And there be no one but us internet pirates here, so just stick with giving them credit for the rip, and you can add your name for the conversion.

Riiiight. And I’m sure all the game music you have you paid for, right?

For the sake of purity, provide a link to the unconverted files as well (And, yes, credit both the original source and your source).

If someones so worried about giving credit then give it to those that really deserve it and put up the dough. Putting this much effort into giving credit for stealing something is to say the very least, ironic.

Youre on a site that pirates VGM. Allot of witch you cant buy. Even if you wanted too. Don’t you think It’s a bit silly to tell every one to go out and buy the OST’s, given what this site is all about?:-P
