Question about Cheeky Angel

I finally sat down and watched the much raved about Cheeky Angel. One thing that bothers me is this: what is the intended audience for this anime? It was actually pretty good, but most animes that I’ve seen seem to cater to some type of audience. I tend to watch all animes (except Gravitation, thank you very much.) that I come across. But all of them seems to have a target audience. For some reason, CA seems to not really have any set audience.
