This has bug me for some time but how are Zelda games consider RPG? I thought I know RPG and that Zelda games were not but on a RPG site I saw all of the zelda game included. So what RPG like about the Zelda games?

First, please go to a grammar school of some sort.

And what do you mean (I’m going to make an assumption as to what you were asking), "How is Zelda an RPG?"?!

Think about it, what do you do in any of the Zelda games? You take on the role of a single hero with a sword and you go kill shit.

RPG = Sword and killing shit.

Zelda sagas are Action/RPG, like Alundra (PSX), Beyond Oasis (Genesis) & many others that i can’t remember now.
Castlevania Symphony of the Night is sort of an Action/RPG too.

I would call Zelda games Action Adventures.

They lack any form of non-superficial decision making or character building, so that throws the traditional RPG definition out the window, and they lack any leveling up and experience gain, which throws the Japanese RPG definition away as well.

I would have to agree with Wattson on this matter.

Now that i think, you are right, there is no leveling up,etc.

In Alundra there is no level up either but you make decisions, etc.
When you see a Zelda game it looks like an RPG, that is the trick.

Zelda only looks like an RPG if you have no idea what an RPG is in the first place, and therefore have no business applying the title to anything.

I’ve played tons of RPGs and I Know what an RPG is!!!!!!!
What is an RPG for you?
What I’m saying is that for someone that didn’t played a Zelda, for the view of the game, can confuse him.

PD: Or you are trying to say that I’m newbie in the RPGs?
If that’s the case you’re soooooooooo WRONG.

All I’m saying is that you don’t know what you’re talking about. I have no obligation to set you straight. Do your own legwork if you care about not looking like a fool in front of those of us who know better.

What do you know better??
About D&D 3.5?
That’s the only RPG for you?
Japanese RPG for me count as RPG too.
I know more than you could imagine.
I gave my opinion, as easy as that, think what you like, I don’t care.
