Problem with FF8

Hi. Ill get to the point.

Im having problems with this game… i choose new game, the movie starts. as soon as it finishes, the game drops and returns to windows… i dont know what can be doing this. i have the following PC: P3 1ghz, 20 gb hdd, voodoo 3 3000 16 mb, 52x drive, 12 x recorder, 2 x dvd drive, sound blaster live! mp3.

PLZ help me im in need!!!

Do you use Windows XP? Some people are also having the same problems. You might also need to upgrade your graphics drivers. If none of that works, let me know, I have a savegame I can send you.

yea, i have the same problems, it sends me back to windows during long animations…i just assumed it was a scratched disk, cuz my disk 3 didn’t have as many scratches and kicked me out a lot less…

Yes that may be the problem, I think that XP isn’t the greatest, I thought 98 2nd edition was the best… Well anyways try closing all other prgrams before running it also, yer RAM might be getting sucked up…

pro bum, absolutely. I’ll get kicked out of the game during long animations sometimes too. However, I’m always able to clean the CD or whatever and get it to work. So if anyone has any trouble and just can’t get it to work, just send your savegame to me and I’ll get it past the trouble spot.

i forgot that detail… im using 98 SE… i dont think that the disk does it, bc its a new cd. the graphics drivers are all updated from 3dfx… 128 ram can be provoking this?… also… where can i d/l the EARLIEST savegame (the 1� one you can make on the whole game) so i can override the problem…

I haven’t been able to find a site that has comprehensive FF8 saves (I found one with some, but not at the beginning.), however if you post your e-mail I can shuttle a savegame at the first save point to you.

i have all the info correct… so i dont see the problem…
surnet.cl and telsur.cl are the same domain so the problem is nullified…

DAMN IT, it returns to windows… even after agent sent me the savegame… what can be doing this? plz help im on need!!!

This whould go GREAT if you guys didnt have Windows XP:p Just go back to the old Win98 and EVERYTHING should work out!!

I have a crapy, AMD500Mhz, 256MB ram, 1 hardisk, 1 dvd-rom, and a MatroxG400 Millenium card!! The game works FINE for me (maybe i should upgrade my graphic card:/). So if it doesnt work on win98 and you have a better pc then mine… then i dont know!

->Maybe you have a scrath on the cd? Sure, i have a LOT of scraches on my cd but it works!
->Maybe you have a lot of other shit on your pc messing things up…

now i got it with geforce 4 mx420… where can i d/l the "fixes"? the colors get screwed… I KNEW I HAD TO BUY ATI RADEON 8500… NOW IM FUCKED!!
