They never show that kind of stuff in the theatres here:( . My friend asked them why and they said that cartoon movies do not turn in enough profit, so they don’t show em or for not a very long time:(

Mononoke owns all!

Good grief, this is only one of the best animes out there! I love it so much. I don’t want to sound like some n00b, but its all I can do. It’s so old school it hurts, as old school as ranma or vapire hunter D, and more! Only problom is, like so many animes, its way to short.

too long>?The movie was longer than 2 hours, how much longer do you wnt it to be? I just finished watching it about 2 hours ago. It is a good movie and the distributor was not an anime company but a mainstream movie co. Does anyone know if the movie was created in the U.S.?

Isn’t the main character Princess Mononoke even though she is called San/Son throughout the movie?> Gilian Anderson played somebody’s voice also but I didn’t recognize her voice. It was a good movie but not one of my favorites.

MINT, how is Mononoke old school? It came out in 97… Old school anime would be like the original Gundam series, the Lupin III TV series, Tetsuwan Atom, Gatchaman, Yamato, and the like.

And Mononoke Hime (original japanese name for Princess Mononoke) was made in Japan by Hayao Miyazaki, creator of Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, and many more classic gems (including the new Sen to Chihiro, or Spirited Away, which is now the highest grossing non-American-made movie ever made.)

Also interesting to note is that Miyazaki-san is the most powerful businessman in the entertainment industry of Japan, and the 4th most powerful businessman in all of Japan. Goes to show how seriously they take animation over there.
