They are not active now, but Primus consists of:

Les Claypool (Vocals and Bass – an exceptional bassist)
Larry LaLonde (Backing vocals and Guitar)
Brian Mantia (Drums)

(Tim ALexander used to play drums up to 1996).

Can’t really give them a genre at all. Because I am lazy, I’ll call them alternative rock.

Songs (my favourites):
Jerry Was A Racecar Driver
Tommy the Cat
Shake Hands with Beef
(They also did they South Park theme)

Les Claypool is pretty awesome. I just saw Primus at lollapalooza over the weekend and they were pretty snazzy. As a young someone who is learing to play bass it’s pretty awesome to see Les rocking it like that. Also on a simliar note I saw the Violent Femmes the weekend before and have to say that Brain Ritchie is also super awesome espically when using his mammoth acoustic bass.

Les Claypool is a bassist god if you ask me. That man can do some brilliant work.

You’re right, the bass solo in Tommy the Cat though is insane!

Oooh, Lewis, you should check out Colonel Claypool’s Bucket of Bernie Brains (http://www.last.fm/music/Colonel%20Claypool‘s%20Bucket%20Of%20Bernie%20Brai ns), a collaboration of Les Claypool with Buckethead!
Now, me, I’m not a big fan of Buckethead, but I think this is really nice. :B Just mentioning~
