I am a sucker for retro styled games and I have recently been looking around for some and found a few sites such as

http://www.pixeljam.com/ and http://www.pixelartgames.com

My favorite is Cave Story which includes a funny story and some fun sidescrolling gameplay. I also enjoy Bloody Zombies because who wouldnt love cutting up pixelated zombies with a lawn mower and sending oceans of blood everywhere.

I was wondering if anyone else had any pixel games or websites to add because I am always looking for more fun retro styled games.

I’ve got a few in mind, but not are really as good as Cave Story.

There’s Canabalt, which is pretty fun.
Tower of Heaven has really awesome gameboy style graphcs (pixel art with the green tint). The game was pretty fun too, imo.
There’s Iji, which is a Metroidvania type game. It doesn’t really have good art though… still pretty fun.

And then there’s that Team Fortress 2 demake, "Gang Garrison 2." It has really cool pixel art but it’s pretty laggy… and not as fun as TF2!

Oh, and there’s La Mulana which isn’t very good imo but you might like it.

That’s all freeware. Every game in the Mother series uses pixel art, if you want to try and emulate them.

Oh, and there’s a game on DS too called Retro Game Challenge that has a lot of goofy games making fun of the NES era. A big hit in Japan, I hear.

Thanks Chewy these were exactly what I was looking for. Tower of Heaven looks awesome and im downloading it now. TF2 demake reminds me of a pixelated soldat which is sweet. Ill have to take a look at them all.
