The Dharma At Big Sur (For Solo Electric Violin And Orchestra)
Composed By – John Adams
Conductor – Eric Stern (3)
Orchestra – The BBC National Orchestra Of Wales
Violin [Electric] – Chlo Hanslip
6 I A New Day 13:32
7 II Sri Moonshine 12:42

This performance of Glass’s 10th is a lot fleeter and lighter than the version previously released, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies; the lighter touch serves the symphony very well and IMO improves on Davies’ version in many respects (although his final movement is better paced).

It almost seems like classical postings are getting the upper hand here for the time being. Nice twist! 😉
