If it’s a party of 4 then just use the 4 characters from FF5 with Mime as their job and Gogo if it is a party of 5. Mime works exactly the same as Gogo does so you could pretty much build a party of whatever you want whenever you wanted it.
I think what I would do is have one character from FF5 with EquipSword, 2-swords, and Jump. That way he could equip the two most powerful weapons in the game AND use jump, making them do double damage.
The second person I would equip with Revive (bring a party member back to life, no items or magic needed), White Magic, and either Redx2 (cast two red spells in one turn) or Time magic. Then equip them with the Healing Rod. Ultimate healer right there. I would also throw on the Elf Cloak as well so they have like 50% evade.
The third person I would use Black Magic, Summon Magic, and either Blue Magic, Earth (like Mog’s dances but it can be selected each turn), Redx2, or MP +30%. I guess which one I would use would depend on what the situation was.
The 4th party member I would give BareFist (monk ability, makes it so they do a shit load of damage unarmed), Counter or Caution, and First Attack or Equip Armor. Just another really strong fighter with some handy special abilities that would keep me from getting attacked from behind and give me a chance for first strike more often.
Now, if I had Gogo as well it becomes kind of hard to decide. I would use Magic for sure because it wouldn’t hurt to have someone that could use all the magic in FF6. I would probably give him Blitzes too because then he could use Mantra and heal everyone else in the party. For the third skill I would either give him the ability to use items or Cyan’s Sword Tech’s because if I remember right there is a way to get 8 hits with Quadra Slice, making it the most powerful attack in all of FF6.
